Poker Kempten
The German news agency dpa reported that police in the Bavarian town of Kempten are investigating the disappearance, although it wasn't clear whether a crime had been committed. As if the people being called up to stage were being used as poker chips and standing on the numbers. So we, who couldn’t speak any German stood with the group and raised our hands when the German host said something.

Germany
We started out day with breakfast in the motor home while tour buses pulled up with loads of tourist. Those poor people were having breakfast standing up in the cold battling the wind and trying to eat all the same. We tried really hard not to look smug while we had our warm coffee and toast inside!!!!
We were driving to a place called Oberstdorf from where we hoped to catch public transport to Schloss Neuschwanstein , the fairy tale castle used by Walt Disney.
The country side was spectacular and the drive to the caravan park was one of the best parts of the day.
The remainder of the day was lazy and once we got settle into the park, we walked 2km to the closest little town Salzberg. It was so pretty in a very German way, green rolling meadows (nothing like dry Rolling Meadows!) and cute homes with cows everywhere. And electric fences that we had to convince Joshua would hurt him if he continued to jump around like a monkey.
Since we’ve been in the motor home it’s as if Joshua is having pure sugar pumped straight into his blood stream. He’s so animated and loud and on the move all the time. You can just imagine how well that’s going down in the motor home where every movement and sound is amplified and 6 bodies are trying to co inhabit!!!!!
At a bakery we sat and had some tea and scrumptious cakes Kurt thrilled the 50ish year old lady behind the counter when he wanted to order whatever was her favourite cake!! When this was translated by a nearby German, the poor thing blushed and giggled like a 16 year old, stating that no one had every asked her favourite sweet before. Her choice was so bloody rich and full of fresh cream! All low fat I’m sure!!
My Dad bought himself a pair of slippers and we’ve being during the maths, so far he’s doing the best…with 2 pairs of shoes, a couple of fedoras hats and other little things. The rest of us are lagging far behind.
At the information centre, we found out from “the cutest German” Kurt had seen…. that it would take us 3 hours return to visit the Romantic Road and see the castle we’d hoped to see, so plans changed!!!! The cutest German also let Kurt download and print about 4 pages of the Hawks Grand final week…without any charge! Funny about that!
We spent the rest of the day at the camp site making plans, washing clothes and being really lazy.

Germany Kempton
We decided to visit the oldest town in Germany, Kempton but without my Dad who wanted to do some fishing!!! On the bus ride we all thought the bus shelters looked so cute like tiny swiss villa.
When we arrived instead of exploring the gorgeous town and doing some shopping (without my Dad “the shopping hater”), we frantically looked for a place that sold phone cards, because guess who hadn’t called her mother in a week!
Finally we made it to a shopping centre and had a quick look around. My Mum and I looked at the jewellery in a small store called Muller while Kurt and the kids looked into a DS and music store.
Later Kurt was intrigued with a game that looked like Black Jack being played on an elevated stage in the middle of the shop centre. It looked as if the people being called up to stage were being used as poker chips and standing on the numbers. So we, who couldn’t speak any German stood with the group and raised our hands when the German host said something. What he said we had no idea?? He could have said the next game involves stripping off to your underwear…and we idiots raised our hands!!!
Eventually my Mum and Katelyn got pulled up on stage and my Mum mouthed that the prize was a manicure. So up went my hand!! And I got called up too!! We didn’t win but everyone received a 5E from Muller so off us girls went to get that jewellery we’d earlier seen.
We found a Woolworths in Kempton and stocked up on a lot of useless stuff that we didn’t even need and had to carry back on the bus!!
Kurt found a great kebab place run by a Turkish man, who gave us some Turkish tea which he claimed was much better than the rubbish Germans drank. The kebabs were fantastic but the Turkish tea just normal tea that had been brewed too long.
When we got home we had two loads of washing to dry but the dryer wasn’t an industrial dryer so after 3 hours of drying jeans, we took them back still damp.
